Ultrasis is a healthcare company with core expertise in health, psychology, software development and programme management. We deliver computerised healthcare products to the consumer, the NHS, the corporate sector and other healthcare providers in the UK and US.
Ultrasis was the first company to offer computerised products based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and interactive multimedia, and is still the world leader in this field. The products help people tackle stress, anxiety and depression, and a full spectrum of related chronic conditions.
The company's flagship product for anxiety and depression, Beating the Blues®, was developed in collaboration with Dr Judy Proudfoot and her colleagues at the Institute of Psychiatry, London. The product, based on cognitive behavioural therapy, has recently been endorsed by NICE as a clinically and cost effective treatment for mild and moderate depression. This product will have a major impact on the ability of GPs to offer non-pharmaceutical treatments and reduce waiting lists for cognitive behavioural therapy.
Ultrasis has also developed an on-line suite of educational and awareness programmes to help people learn to cope with anxiety, depression, stress and insomnia. In the UK, these programmes (The Relief Series) are increasingly used in the corporate environment and as part of the provision for mental health by the NHS. Drink & Drug Wise is a comprehensive programme to help people manage drink and drug abuse is available in the USA and is now also being offered in the UK.
Ultrasis also markets a suite of products, 'CALM Workplace', which enables employers to provide a full programme of primary, secondary, and tertiary interventions as recommended by the Health and Safety Executive. This suite comprises an audit tool for work related stress (primary intervention), The Relief Series to provide education, awareness, and coping strategies (secondary intervention), and Beating the Blues® (tertiary intervention).
Ultrasis was one of the first companies to provide biofeedback tools to help people cope with anxiety and stress using relaxation techniques. This product 'Tension Taker' is now available for purchase online via The Wellness Shop.
